If you have extended insurance, we will easily bill directly to your insurance company on your behalf.

All that’s required on your end is for you to have previously set up direct billing with your insurance company (which can most often be done over the phone or online), preferably made payable to the servicing provider, and a signature to authorize us to bill for you. If your insurance company does not pay to servicing provider, we can make it payable to yourself, the insured member. In this case, the fee will have to be paid up front and then be reimbursed at a later date by the insuring company.

All of this can be taken care of for you while you’re in for your exam, and by the time you’re ready to check out, we will know what percentage of the exam fee was covered by your insurance.

There are a few companies we cannot direct bill to, one or two companies that do not require authorization forms, and one company that will allow us to predetermine your coverage amount before billing.

Most often, insurance companies only allow billing for eye exams and eye wear once a year or once every two years. Contact your extended health insurance plan before coming in for your exam. The more informed you are, the smoother the process.
