OCT stands for Ocular Coherence Tomography, and it is an advanced device that has changed the way our doctors analyze the retina, optic nerve and anterior ocular segment. It literally allows our doctors to see beyond the surface of your retina.
In addition to its high-resolution, 3D multi-layer retinal scans, our OCT has anterior segment assessment capabilities, allowing our doctors to assess our patients’ corneal thickness, iridocorneal angles and cataract density.
The iVue OCT allows for more precise pre-laser consultations, and gives our doctors valuable information that aids in the diagnosis and management of a range of ocular diseases such as endothelial dystrophy, cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, central serous retinopathy, macular hole and many others.
Considered the gold standard in the management of several ocular conditions, OCT technology provides in-depth analysis of ocular structures and is essential in determining if your treatment plan is effective or if it needs to be adjusted.
In our continued effort to bring the most advanced technology available to our patients, we have proudly become one of the first clinics in BC to include an OCT as a routine part of the optometric care.

Zeiss Humphrey Visual Field Analyzer
Most patients are familiar with visual field testing, but not every visual field device is the same. The Humphrey Visual Field (HVF) Analyzer is validated by over 30 years of eye care research and clinical experience, and it is considered the accepted standard of care in glaucoma diagnosis and management.
The HVF is the most reliable system in existence, and our system is installed in compliance with standard lighting and ergonomics conditions, allowing patients to be assessed for visual field defects consistently and comfortably.
